Biography

Keith Hussey is a Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow. Having graduated from Dundee University, he completed his postgraduate training in the northeast of Scotland before completing further training in Glasgow. Following the completion of his training, he spent 14 months working in the Royal Adelaide Hospital in South Australia. During this time, he developed an interest in ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy.

Following his appointment as a Consultant in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, Keith has remained involved with both undergraduate and postgraduate medical education (both locally in Glasgow, as well as through the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow).

Keith is now the lead clinician for the NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde and NHS Forth Valley. He performs a full range of surgical and endovascular arterial reconstruction and has continued to develop an ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy service, with a focus on patients with skin complications associated with superficial venous disease and varicose veins.

I was very pleased with my experience at Elanic clinic in Glasgow. Pre-op everything was explained very clearly & staff were very professional. Operation to replace my knee was successful with a very good surgeon, Mr Colin Drury who was excellent. As were all the support staff. The nursing staff were very caring and attentive, it’s a smaller team than the big private hospitals and they were all great. Facilities in the clinic are a very high standard & location in the city centre is really convenient. I would highly recommend Elanic Glasgow.

I had a partial knee replacement on the 4 th October, after paying £12000 which seemed reasonable by Mr Ishan Mohamood, orthopedics consultant ,very nice chap and I felt confident with my chosen consultant. Johncross Cargill was my point of contact ,lovely guy ,helpfull and obliging ,I felt he was a little under pressure with the amount of clients he is dealing with ,but just my observation ,told him he needs a PA. Lol Thomas Butterfield nurse liason was a great assett to the company and thought he was doing a great job as was Chez night shift nurse as seen in pictures ,thank you guys. Surgery went fine after a previous delay as could not get parts in time ,so was put back 7 days disappointing maybe check you can get parts before confirming surgery date !,alas these things happen and rescheduled the date. 1 hr 5 min later operation completed without any concerns ,very happy. Aftercare was good ,however waited 2 hours for ice pack machine that was not available ,ice melted and bag not available ,but improvised with ice bag and pillow case ,worked fine and dandy 😁. Day shift nurses 2 young ladys and senior nurse, we're also a little stretched and I felt they were struggling a little bit with inpatients and out patients again just my observation when buzzing for pain relief . I felt Elanic are doing a very good job ,growing quickly and expanding as seen on STV , which is wonderfull. Alas ,becareful not to grow too fast you miss the smaller details that make for a exceptional patient experience . All in all I would recommend Elanic . And would not hesitate to use them again.

Johnross was our first port of call and was very professional and informative. His helpful manner was why we explored Elanic further much to our satisfaction. When we spoke with Mr Ihsan Mahmood about my hip replacement, we found he listened, he explained how the replacement is performed with a real prostheses, and answered all my questions which made me feel relaxed and happy for us to go ahead with the operation. All in all a very satisfactory experience from start to finish.

I have just had an initial consultation with Mr Andrew MacDonald at Elanic Hospital. I have been very impressed with service so far. From arrival through to leaving i was treated with respect and understanding. Mr MacDonald listened to what my issues were explained in detail what would happen regarding my potential operation. I felt at ease and have every confidence in the treatment that I will receive.

I recently had knee surgery at Elanic in Glasgow and the whole experience has been extremely positive, I couldn’t recommend them enough. Johnross in the booking team was great at scheduling appointments both quickly and at a convenient time and kept me updated at all points. On the day of surgery Kayleigh and the rest of the team in the hospital couldn’t have been more helpful and reassuring. The facilities were excellent and I was in theatre quickly with no waiting around. I felt really well looked after as I recovered and was discharged the same evening after seeing physio. Mr Nunn carried out my surgery - from the first consultation I felt he really listened to what my goals were and talked me through all my options clearly so I felt I was able to make an informed decision. Post surgery he explained everything that had been carried out and included photos which I found really helpful. I am so glad I made the decision to have my surgery at Elanic and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to someone else. Their pricing was really competitive and the hospital was really easy to get to both by train and car due to the location. I’m still early days in my recovery but things are all going in the right direction and I’m really grateful to the whole team for their exceptional level of care from first point of contact.
